on Hypnobirthing
Does Hypnobirthing work?
Does Hypnobirthing reduce pain?
Does my Birth Partner need to attend Hypnobirthing classes too?
Does Hypnobirthing replace the need for pain relief during labour?
Yes. Some women can experience a comfortable birth experience using Hypnobirthing techniques. Infact, I am one of them, and that's why I'm so positive about sharing the techniques with other women. What you learn with me will help you to manage the pain become more manageable...so long as you practise and put the hard work in.
My clients speak very highly of Hypnobirthing. Every single feedback says they are confident and calmer going into birth, thanks to my Hypnobirthing course.
While I cannot guarantee a pain free, or "perfect birth", clients say the tools & techniques helped them, no matter what birth they had.
When will I use the Hypnobirthing Techniques?
Many of my clients enjoy the techniques during pregnancy, to reduce anxiety and help them sleep. In your labour, it's wise to start as you mean to go on, so as soon as you experience the sensations of labour, use the techniques from the outset. This will promote relaxation, endorphins and oxytocin from the outset and put you in a strong frame of mind for birth. Equally, you can use the techniques for feeding and healing post-birth too. The benefits are endless.
When should I start a Hypnobirthing course?
You can start Hypnobirthing at any time. I know mothers who have done embarked on their Hypnobirthing journey at 36 weeks pregnant, and I know mothers such as the Duchess of Cambridge, who used it early on to combat morning sickness.
An ideal time is any time after your 20 week scan. It's wise to start around then so you can and your baby can enjoy relaxation throughout the second half of your pregnancy and you have plenty of time to master the skills and techniques to support you at birth.
Can I do the course online?
Yes! All my services can be delivered via Zoom, from the comfort of my home to yours, so no matter where you are in the world I can support you.
All my services are offered Face-to-Face too, in my family home in Bishop's Stortford, Hertfordshire, on the Herts & Essex border.
Can I get a Hypnobirthing course for free?
While I'd love to offer my services for free my course gives you unlimited access to me & my support, 10 hours of teaching and dozens of videos including midwife interviews, relaxations scripts, handbooks and endless resources. This all comes with your investment. The benefits of attending a course with a tutor are endless...you can read a book on how to swim, or you can jump in the water...the same can be said for Hypnobirthing. Take the plunge with me and we'll work together via fun, live & interactive sessions.
Ideally yes! The course has so much to offer both the mother and her Birth Partner. Following the course your Birth Partner will have a much better understanding on the mechanics of birth, the labour process and exactly how they can support you. You will become a team, with tools and techniques up your sleeve. Read this blog post.
Yes and no. On the course you will learn breathing and coping strategies. Many mothers use these to support there labour and feel there is no need for pain relief. And others use the techniques for as far as they want to, then opt for pain relief later into the process. There is no right or wrong, it's whatever suits you at the time.
Is Hypnobirthing supported in the UAE?
Yes! However, the level of support can vary from hospital-to-hospital and consultant-to-consultant. It is well-worth meeting with them before your birth and discussing your birth preparation and the sort of the birth you aspire to achieve.
This will help them to meet your needs and also help you to adjust your expectations, to ensure you feel more at ease and in control on the day.
Do you offer postpartum support here in UAE?
Yes. I am always here to support my mothers and sign post them to the relevant services. For example, mothers contact me with feeding issues, seeking support and sleeping advice or what baby classes are available to them locally. I have an incredible address book of practitioners, experts and professionals who I can sign post you to, not to mention charities, organisations and groups for support. I also co-head The Baby Chain, a community for mums to come together, socialise and seek support.
